Fourth annual barbecue and Red Cross blood drive sets record


On June 15, 2017, as a part of its community outreach, Wilkinson Corporation hosted an outdoor barbecue lunch for neighboring businesses and local clients, while also hosting their fourth annual Red Cross blood drive.

“We strive to build out-of-the-ordinary wealth—both financial and personal—not only for our investors, but also for our clients, partners, team members, and anyone else with whom we do business,” said CEO Lonnie Geinger. “As part of that, we also believe that our company exists for purposes beyond financial or business interests. All our decisions are based on motives and goals that we hope will ultimately make a significant difference in our community. Hosting the annual blood drive is certainly one way we know will help.”

Kellee Mains, director of investor relations for Wilkinson, is the key coordinator for the day. “It truly is my honor to help coordinate our annual American Red Cross blood drive and barbecue,” Mains said. “It’s a great way to reach out to our neighboring businesses, bring people together, have some fun and serve an incredible cause. This was our fourth year hosting this event, and I’m excited to say we broke our previous record with 20 donations. Each pint of blood can help save up to three lives so it’s extremely gratifying to know we are helping that many people.”
